                  Trading

                  Marketing and Trading

                  Tarong Energy's priority is to manage all market interfaces to optimise market outcomes (volume and price), stabilise cash flows and meet customer needs. Our Marketing and Trading team undertakes this function within a Board-approved risk management framework.

                  Activities

                  The Marketing and Trading team manages all customer and market-facing activities for Tarong Energy. It is responsible for:
                  • optimising the dispatch of Tarong Energy's generating capacity into the National Electricity Market (NEM);
                  • managing all ancillary services arrangements;
                  • trading financial instruments in the wholesale electricity market;
                  • trading environmental products such as Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs), Gas Electricity Certificates (GECs) and New South Wales Greenhouse Gas Abatement Certificates (NGACs); and
                  • analytical support for these activities and for related areas within Tarong Energy's business.

                  Performance

                  Tarong Energy's revenue per Megawatt Hour from electricity sales has been higher than the average pool price over time, reflecting Marketing and Trading's expertise in managing the Corporation's revenue and energy risk exposures.

                  Team

                  The Marketing and Trading team is a group of highly skilled and experienced individuals who work closely together to deliver these results.
