            Generating

            Tarong Energy is one of Queensland’s most significant power generators, with the capacity to deliver up to 25 per cent of the State’s power needs. The Corporation owns and operates Tarong Power Station (coal fired) and Wivenhoe Power Station (pumped storage hydro), and is part owner of the Tarong North Power Station (coal fired).

            The three power stations between them deliver a total generating capacity of 2343 megawatts:
            • Tarong Power Station - 1400 megawatts
            • Tarong North Power Station - 443 megawatts
            • Wivenhoe Power Station - 500 megawatts
