Wivenhoe Power Station
Wivenhoe Power Station is Tarong Energy's pumped storage hydroelectric plant. The 500 megawatt power station is located on the eastern side of Wivenhoe Dam, about 90 kilometres north-west of Brisbane.
Wivenhoe Power Station is Queensland's only pumped storage hydroelectric plant. Operating with reliability levels that meet world best practice, the station's availability over the past decade has been consistently high. This has been achieved through Tarong Energy's focus on balancing technical excellence and commercial success.
Wivenhoe's high levels of operational performance ensure it will be an integral part of the organisation's generating capability for many years to come.
