            Environment

Tarong Energy uses natural resources such as coal and water to generate electricity. We acknowledge that our activities impact on the environment but are committed to minimising these potential impacts where practically achievable.

It is our aim to integrate environmental management into our daily business. Our Environment Policy is underpinned by an Environmental Management System (EMS), our people and effective stakeholder communication.

Tarong Power Station operates under an environmental licence issued by the Environmental Protection Agency. This licence specifies various conditions to comply with the Environmental Protection Act 1994. The licence covers issues such as air emissions, water discharges, stormwater and waste management.

For details of our environmental performance, view our Annual Report or refer to our page on Reporting.
