            Incidents

Our Environmental Management System (EMS) encourages behaviours that actively seek to identify and reduce the risk of environmental harm. This encompasses our incident reporting processes.

Incidents are reported and investigated to detect underlying system, design or operational issues with a view to preventing recurrences.

We also aim to report potential incidents or improvement opportunities to be proactive and address issues before they occur.

Our performance in relation to incidents and complaints is described in the table below. In time we would like to see an increase in the amount of potential incidents and improvement opportunities reported.

A description on our incident categories is below.
            Description Rating Category

Direct or indirect environmental impacts beyond location (on-site or off-site); repeated public concern over environmental nuisance. Reportable to EPA. Moderate 3
Actual or potential environmental harm either temporary or permanent, requiring immediate attention; moderate to high environmental impact. Reportable to EPA; Possible prosecution Major 2
Serious Environmental Harm that causes actual or potential environmental impacts that are irreversible or of high impact and widespread. Substantial failure of environmental control system. Reportable to EPA; Likely prosecution resulting in fine. Catastrophic 1
