            Corporate Sponsorship Program

            Recent sponsorship committments include:

Somerset and Wivenhoe Fish Stocking Association Inc
This sponsorship supports the Somerset and Wivenhoe Fish Stocking Associations ongoing efforts on the Somerset and Wivenhoe dams. Tarong Energy’s support will assist with ongoing fish stocking, and conservation and education programs.

            Science and Engineering Challenge 2009
This was an in-kind sponsorship that provided eight Tarong Energy engineers to judge and facilitate the 2009 Science and Engineering Challenge involving all South Burnett High schools.

            Jazz on the Lawn
This sponsorship helped to present a relaxed day full of music, art and local produce for the families of the South Burnett region. Jazz on the Lawn had something for the whole family and raised funds for the Kumbia Kindergarten.

            Community Partnership Fund

The following activities have recently received funding:

            South Burnett Energy Centre
A major tourism and education initiative, the South Burnett Regional Council built the Energy Centre in partnership with Tarong Energy, local businesses and community members.  Locals and visitors can learn about energy production in the South Burnett region, and the Centre also forms part of the Nanango Visitor Information Centre.

            Tanduringie State School multi-purpose area
The Tanduringie State School received funding through the Tarong Energy Community Partnership Fund to build a multi-purpose area.  Designed for parades, sporting events and cultural activities, the multi-purpose area has enabled the school to increase the number and quality of inter-school events and accommodate a recent growth in student numbers.

Careflight Rescue ‘Lighting the Dark’ project
Careflight Rescue received funding towards the purchase of much needed night vision goggles for the service’s rescue helicopter. The goggles will enable the helicopter to land at the Kingaroy Airport in the dark to transport critical patients to larger hospitals for emergency treatment.
