            Investing in the Community

Tarong Energy recognises that the strength of our business is closely tied to that of the communities in which we operate.

Through our Social Investment Policy, we invest resources to nurture and strengthen communities.  The policy has two funding streams:

            Corporate Sponsorship Program
The Corporate Sponsorship Program is open to community groups and organisations in all the communities in which Tarong Energy operates and provides financial and in-kind support for specific activities that enhance lifestyle, or facilitate educational or economic opportunity.  Activities supported provide a combination of positive publicity opportunities and opportunities for community interaction, and align with our corporate values.

Written applications are accepted at any time.

            Community Partnership Fund
The Community Partnership Fund recognises that the majority of our workforce - and those employed through Thiess at our Meandu mine – live and work in the South Burnett region.  The fund is administered by the Community Reference Group (see Engaging with the Community) and supports activities that build social capital in the South Burnett region through training and capacity building; the provision of services; or through capital works and infrastructure projects.

Funding rounds occur twice a year and are well advertised in the South Burnett.

To apply for funding through the Community Partnership Fund, please download an application form.

To find out more about these programs, please download the fact sheets using the links above or call the Community Relations team on 07 4160 9142 or toll free on 1800 300 351.
